This is a really exciting venture to create a collection of phonic reading materials for adults and young people who are struggling with literacy. The aim is to publish 2 sets of books and follow-on materials which will support a phonic approach to reading. The materials will have age appropriate content at an accessible reading level so that beginner readers can experience success without feeling patronised.
Where we're at now?
20 books have been written and are now being carefully edited and prepared for the publishing process - this is a time consuming and sometimes painful process as we are trying very hard to write within the constraints of a phonic structure and reduce the number of out of level words. Having said that, we are not shying away from topic specific words where they are essential to maintain interest and are appropriate for our adult audience.
We really believe that there is a need for HearSay Books and are looking forward to seeing them published in 2012.
Please get in touch if you have any queries or suggestions about this product.
