This represents the next step on the long journey to publishing Hearsay - a set of phonically structured reading books and support materials for adults.
The Hearsay books are currently being developed at 2 levels:
- Stage 1: Based on a simple alphabetic code + some high frequency words + a limited number of topic specific words.
- Stage 2: Building on stage 1 with the addition of a limited number of vowel digraphs + high frequency words + a limited number of topic specific words.
The teachers guide clearly identifies the phonic knowledge and out of level words that need to be taught in advance.
All reading books in the series are designed to appeal to adult readers, with a wide range of appropriate topics, both fact and fiction, ranging from romance to war and adventure. In all cases the books are accessible and age-appropriate, and are structured to ensure success and build confidence.
